How are IB commissions calculated?

Commissions are calculated based on the trading volume of your referred clients, not their profits or losses. The formula is:

  1. Volume: Total lots traded by your referred clients.
  2. Commission Rate: Your specific tier rate (e.g., $3 per lot).
  3. Calculation: Volume × Rate = Earnings.

Key factors:

  • Trading Group: Clients may be assigned to different groups with different spread/commission structures.
  • Symbol: Rates may vary by instrument (e.g., Forex vs. Crypto CFDs).
  • Net Volume: Only live, executed trades count; pending orders do not generate commission.
